Hi Cassie,
We have a building in Richmond and our friends who are staying there are thinking of raising egg-laying chickens and an organic garden. How many chickens can you legally keep in your backyard? Please advise and thanks!
Lea
Hi Lea: Here is the information you requested. We now have day old chicks vaccinated for Meriks. Hope to meet you soon! Thanks Cassie!
Scott found this on http://www.ci.richmond.ca.us
The Richmond Municipal code merely requires that the number of chickens possessed be a “reasonable” number. The measure of “reasonableness” also depends on the coop or barn’s capacity:
Richmond Municipal Code 9.24.040: Number of animals and fowl kept on premises to be reasonable.
The number of animals, including fowl, on any premises shall be of a prudent and reasonable number and is at no time to be excessive in number as to the facilities provided for them.
Hi. Love your blog.
Did you know, though, that you don’t have to have the top page as it is, i.e. http://gardengirlfarm.com/ and you can change the path with your host so that your wonderful blog site comes up on top and NOT that dreadful page you have. Meaning, people type in gardengirlfarm.com and have your wordpress page as your top page. Seems, though, that you are running the free version of wordpress — you would have to have a host site, which you apparently already do otherwise gardengirlfarm.com would not come up live. Hope this does not confuse you. Again, your site is wonderful and it would be nice to land on the appropriate top page.
Hope that helps.
Hi, GG!. I briefly saw your “farm” at the Pt. Richmond sale a week ago, and am glad to learn that you do landscaping, because I’m thinking of a redo of my entire backyard. In the meanwhile, you had a large bird/parrot cage for sale; is it still for sale and if so, how large is it and what is the price? I’m sorry to inquire after the sale, and I fully intended to pursue it at the big street sale, but others in my group headed us in another direction!
Thank you,
B. J. Thorsnes
