I woke up this fine rainy morning thinking, I will relax a bit today. Not so much. I threw my two house hens out the front window so their morning clucking would not wake Scott, put my two DEMANDING baby ducks out with them then made some coffee. I always check my email frist thing in case a landscape client needs me. The top email was “CONGRATULATIONS” You have been voted Urban Farmer of the day!”
I am so excited I am running around the house getting out seeds to start and speaking to my house hens that begged to come back in out of the rain. Thank you everyone who voted for us! http://www.urbanfarmonline.com/urban-livestock/default.aspx?navm=toplivestock

So, so excited for you! I am motivated to go out and farm in the rain, even tho’ my plan was to stay inside and relax, too.
Rock on!
Pam!! this is Doreen. I see you on the front page of today’s Sentinel! right on? This article is especially gratifying after hearing on NPR yesterday how commercially raised turkerey are all artificially inseminated because their huge breasts which have been developed specifically for the Thanksgiving tabel makes it impossible for the tom and hen to mate naturally! How sad, and thank you for what you do. After 5 years, I finally got a garden plot at Trescony Community Garden in SC! I will be in touch>

Thanks Pam! I am headed out into the rain to let out the flock! We are awesome Garden Girls!
I love, love, love the fresh chicken and duck eggs from Garden Girl Farms! Lately I’ve been using them in my baking and my recent lemon chiffon and lemon cream cake came out absolutely fabulous….it’s all about the ingredients! Thanks Cassie for introducing me to your amazing eggs!
